The sculptural group of the first codifier of standard Slovak language has been standing in Trnava since 1937, near the Bernolák Gate, in the so-called Bernolák's Orchard. Its author is the famous sculptor Ján Koniarek. The location of the sculpture just in the beautiful city of Trnava is not accidental at all. Anton Bernolák worked here from 1787 to 1791 as a pastor and dean.
On the stone pedestal of the sculpture, there is a relief of a group of people to whom the founder of the Slovak Apprenticeship preaches. Anton Bernolák's Monument in Trnava is known for his quotation worth of the linguist and codifier of the first literary language of the Slovaks:“Slovaks, write in Slovak! Here is my word about your language."
The surroundings of the sculpture are nicely decorated in a park style. There are flower beds, but also alleys of trees under which you can sit in the summer.
