You can follow the footsteps of the Celts in the archaeological museum of Havránok. This location is one of the oldest cultural monuments in Liptov. It is a site of a settlement from the early Iron Age from the period of 300-100 BC.
Like today, many people are enchanted by Liptov and even in the past it was not otherwise. This place also addressed the Celts who lived here. The Celts were the first inhabitants of Slovakia that we know of. The Liptov Celts were included in the tribe of Kotins.
A number of valuable finds and remains of a settlement from the early Iron Age, remains of fortifications, the cult site of ancient druids and Celtic dwellings have been preserved and found in this magical place.
This archeopark is also special due to fact that the so-called experimental archeology has been applied here. Many objects have been creatively refurbished or replicated. Visitors can thus admire the reconstructed residential buildings for firing ceramics, the sacrifice place and the walls with the gate in the open air.
During the summer season, Havránok is the venue for various cultural events such as fencing or demonstrations of Celtic religious ceremonies and various craft activities.
The Havránok Archeopark belongs to the exhibitions of the Liptov Museum in Ružomberok.
