Baníkov Saddle boasts of a remarkable height of 2,045 m above sea level. It lies in the main ridge of the Western Tatras and separates the hills of Baníkov and Pachoľa.
If you seek for an hour-long hike and stay at a height of over 2000 m, then Baníkov Saddle is the right choice for you. From Jalovec, there is a blue-marked trail leading to it and there is also another green-marked trail leading from Roháče.
The road is rather steeper, leads through the zigzag bends and is strenuous, but the subsequent views of the Parichvost Valley and the Spálená Valley will help you forget the kilometers you have overcome.
The saddle is excavated in crystalline rocks, especially in granites. On the ridge, rising to Baníkov Hill, you can observe two protruding rocky humps. Baníkov Saddle is also an important crossroad of marked hiking trails.
According to the regulation of the TANAP administration, the exit to saddle is only possible from 16.6 to 31.10.
