The picturesque village of Chľaba boasts of not only beautiful nature, but also historic wine cellars. The vast majority of them still remember the 19th century. They are dug directly into the slope of the tuff mountain range of Burda, which surrounds the village.
Pivničky originally served as temporary dwellings during the extensive floods that affected the village in the past. Later, people began to use them for the storage and processing of grapes, as the wine-growing in the village Chľaba really rich tradition.
Wine cellars have been preserved in good condition until now. They have a length of 7.5 - 11 meters, a width of 2.2 - 2.5 and a height of about 2 meters. They are unique monuments of folk architecture. In one of them, in the cellar of the former parish office, the village established a museum in 2005.
The purpose of the Cellar Museum is to preserve a unique display of architectural and craftsmanship as well as to preserve and present wine-growing traditions in the village.
