Description

Significant natural monument Belina Rocks is a part of PLA Cerová vrchovina. These remarkable rock walls, outcrops, turrets, rocky windows and small caves were created by slope movements, gravity and lava flow weathering that once flowed from the Monica volcano and moved across the river valley.

As a result, we can now see a sample of the so-called "rocky town" in the forests of the village of Belina. rock city in the early stages of development. Some of these rocky cliffs can be climbed, giving you beautiful views of the surroundings.

Belina Rocks are home to rare species of plants and thermophilous species of animals. As you walk through these rock creations, you can observe the unique plate-like separation of basalt. Interesting thing are also the large excrescence of olivine growing up to 0.5 to 1 cm.

A yellow-marked hiking trail from Belina leads to the rocky town. Belina Rocks are accessible also by road from village Čamovce.
