Bencovje grunt belonged to the family of Štefan Benca, as indicated by entries in the registry books from the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Today, the house is one of the very last traditional buildings with the original unique medieval tuff cellar preserved in the streets of Bojnice. Its history is longer than 400 years, it is built on the oldest street of the city.
Get acquainted with the way of lifeof the family of Štefan Benca, born in the 19th century. You will discover traditional folk products (commonly used household items in the past - made of ceramics, earthenware, wicker, wood, linen, metal) that reflect the skill and sense of beauty of the old craftsmen.
In the past, Bojnice was declared pottery and tile making. Therefore, a ceramic workshop was opened here again to continue the traditional Bojnice craft. You can try spinning ceramics on the potter's wheel (please make an appointment in advance), or paint a ceramic product (anytime during opening hours). You will experience the joy of creation, pleasant creative moments and create your own original or unique gift that will bring joy for a long time. Or just sit down on an old wooden bench and relax with a coffee, a sweet treat or a glass of delicious wine.
