One of the publicly accessible caves in the Považský Inovec mountain range is the Great and Small Dolnosokolská Cave. These are two fissure caves in one created in the formation of Sokolie Rocks at an altitude of 477 m above sea level. Both caves are declared natural monuments.
The Great Dolnosokolská Cave has an underground passage length of 15 meters. The cave has no stalactical decoration. Its importance, however, lies in the rare archaeological findings from the Neolithic.
The Small Dolnosokolská Cave is located in close proximity to the Great Dolnosokolská Cave, only slightly lower. Its length is 10 meters. Like its neighbour, it has no stalactical decoration.
Both caves are located near marked hiking trails. The closest is the recreation center of Výtoky, about 1 km away from the caves. However, they are also available from the village of Moravany nad Váhom, from where there is an approximately 8 km long marked hiking and educational trail. Since there is also a marked cycling path around the site, you can make your journey easier by bicycle.
