The historic dominant and symbol of the eastern Slovak village of Budimír is the Classicist-Theresian mansion dating from the second third of the 18th century. The mansion served as the mansion of the Ujházy family. Later part of the mansion was used by the local school.
Today the premises of the mansion serve the Slovak Technical Museum, which has permanent exhibitions here. The permanent exhibition of historical clocks, which was created in cooperation with the East Slovak Museum in Košice, offers visitors a period interior furnished to complete the idea of housing culture with historical furniture, paintings and home accessories.
The exhibition spaces alternate in shorter or longer time intervals various exhibitions, focusing not only on the history of technology, but also on history, art, collecting. The mansion is also the venue for various events and museum-related activities.
The mansion itself is set in a beautiful French park, where you can walk and enjoy the atmosphere of aristocratic times. There are also three large-scale sculptures called the Slovak Court, the Statue of the Reader and Someone Sitting in the Jail from the Slovak Shrovetide Cycle by sculptor Ladislav Gajdoš.
