Description
One of the most popular cottages of the family character in the resort of Hrebienok is Bilík's cottage built at an altitude of 1255 m above sea level.
Every tourist will be enchanted by the wooded environment of the Studená dolina (Cold Valley), the romantic architecture of the cottage itself, and the power of the above towering Slavkovský Peak.
Bilík's cotage is open all year round and accessible on foot from Hrebienok (which can be reached either by cable car or on foot from Starý Smokovec). It offers cozy accommodation in rooms or apartments, as well as refreshment. The mountain rescue service station seats at the cottage.
The cottage is marked with a memorial plaque and named in honour of Pavel Bilík, who was captured during the World War II by the Germans in a combat action over Horný Smokovec, and executed at Kežmarok Castle.
Nowadays, the mountain hut is a great starting point for quick getting into the climbing terrain It is also ideal for families with children who want to undertake summer or winter hiking trips, but also for organizing various training sessions.
