The Black Eagle Museum (orig. "Múzeum Čierny orol") is located in Liptovský Mikuláš, in the historical building of a former trip inn (a facility with accommodation and overnight also for cars and horses) from the 17th century. The museum serves as an important center of cultural life and represents an extended exhibition of the Liptov Museum in Ružomberok.
The Black Eagle in its exposition of hunting and fishing in Liptov presents the most typical representatives of the fauna of the region. In its historical cross-section it maps the history of hunting and fishing in Liptov from the Middle Ages to the present. Visitors are also introduced to the development of organizational forms of hunting and fishing, as well as important personalities in this area.
The exhibition also includes samples of hunted game, various hunting equipment and hunting parlor furnished with period furniture. Through an additional exhibition dedicated to the folk healer Elena Badová, visitors can get insight into her life, which she has dedicated to helping people. The museum also has another exhibition space in the building, which is used mainly for the presentation of short-term exhibitions.
