The enchanting white rocky outcrops of the Little Carpathians tempt many tourists or hikers. And it is not otherwise even in the case of Čierna skala (Black Rock). The rocky ridge of this hill is one of the popular and sought-after tourist locations. This place is also loved by mountain bikers.
The dominant massif, which rises near Plavecký Mikuláš, offers beautiful and far-reaching views of the surrounding small Carpathian forests and the Danube Lowland from its top parts. However, you can also admire the impressive rock walls, which reach a height of 10 to 35 m, or an interesting natural phenomenon - a rock window.
The ascent to Black Rock is not demanding. The walkway mostly leads through forests and meadows, with a slight rise in recent meters. However, on the way you have the opportunity to relax, for example, even under a fireplace.
There are several marked hiking trails leading to the Black Rock. The yellow tourist trail leads here from Plavecký Mikuláš (approx. 3.5 km) - which includes relatively challenging climb and therefore for families with children, we recommend as starting point the recreational center Jahodník (approx. 4.5 km), where there is also a larger parking lot.
