Calvary in Bratislava is one of the first and most important calvary, not only in the territory of contemporary Slovakia and in the whole of former Kingdom of Hungary. From the past to the present day, the Calvary Hill has served as a place of prayer, occasional pilgrimages and ways of the Cross.
In the past, the Bratislava Calvary flourished, and even a whole complex consisting of a church, several chapels and a church garden was built. Over time, much of the Calvary has been devastated. On a small hill, there is currently the Church of Our Lady of the Snows and Lourdes Cave with a statue of the Virgin Mary of white marble.
Calvary is gradually undergoing reconstruction. Bratislava Calvary offers a nice view of part of Bratislava. There are two roads to Calvary. Either you go frombelow from the Pražská Street or you can start from above from the church on Calvary.
