Even a busy, spectacular and historically rich city like Trenčín is surrounded by beautiful nature. Brezina Forest Park is also a proof of this. And yet, there is not much to do, just walk a few steps from the city center and you will be in a completely different world.

The Brezina Forest Park is located on the south-western tip of Strážov Hills. The historical development of this locality is connected with the development of Trenčín Castle from its oldest period. In the past, it was used for herding goats, because even today the highest point of the massif is called Goat Hill.

The site started to be reforested gradually. The first trees were birch trees and the forest park was named after them. At present, the forest park is full of trees of various kinds. Here you will find alley of beeches, hornbeams, maples, elms, spruces, pines and larch trees.

The Brezina Forest Park is suitable for leisure activities in the form of sports activities of various kinds. In addition to walking, you can also do jogging, cycling and cross-country skiing is available in winter. The asphalt road to Hotel Brezina is also suitable for inline skating.

The most beautiful piece of forest park in the spring is the so-called "The cherry orchard", which is covered with cherry and sour cherry trees, and is beautifully blooming during this time of year. There are also a number of gazebos and fireplaces.

From the orchard, there are stairs leading to the Memorial of the Martyrs, the path continues in the direction of Hotel Brezina, Zábranie, Dušová Valley, over the Juh housing estate.
