If you visit the town of Rožňava, know that you will be enchanted not only by its historical core, but also by the unique nature that surrounds the town attractively. Only a short distance from it, more precisely above the village of Brzotín, at the height of 597 m above seal level, there are the Brzotín Rocks.
The area is a national nature reserve and its slopes fall steeply into the Slaná River canyon. With its area of 433.78 ha, the national nature reserve is one of the largest reserves in the territory of the Slovak Karst.
The Brzotín Rocks offer fascinating views of Gemer and very pleasant, relaxing tourism. They will also enchant you with interesting rock forms and gullies. There are several rare and protected species of flora growing here and therefore a 5th degree of protection applies here.
On the Brzotín Rocks, you can enjoy the fairy-tale sunrise or sunset, but also the silence by which you can perfectly relax. The starting point for you can be the village of Jovice, Plešivec, but also the resort of Gombasek. The shortest access is from the village of Jovice, from where about 4km long marked hiking trail leads to the rocks.
