Bukovec Hill is a perfect view point, which also offers quiet and interesting hiking. It is located between the villages of Švedlár and Poráč. Although its altitude reaches over a thousand meters, its peak is flat.
This mountainous and meadowy peak provides a beautiful view of the Hnilecká Valley, the Hornád Basin, the eastern part of the Low Tatras with Kráľová Hoľa, in the south it is possible to see the Volovské Mountains with the highest peak of Zlatý stôl (Golden Table) and in good weather, it is possible to see even the whole Tatras.
The Bukovec slopes also hide extensive mountain peat bogs with a rich occurrence of several species of rare and protected plants and a unique occurrence of some species.
The blue-marked hiking trails from the villages of Švedlár, Poráč or Závadka lead to the top of Bukovec. Hike to this hill is not physically demanding or time-consuming, so everyone can handle it.
