Lovers of pre-war period of Czechoslovakia will have their field day at the museum located in the building of B-S 4 “Lány”. The museum reflects the times just before Nazi Germany began World War II. The B-S 4 is a unique fortress system that was prepared to defend against Nazi troops. As in other objects BS - 8 and BS - 6, also here was the daily life of the border battalion no. 50.
Bunker B-S 4 features steel loopholes, massive reinforced concrete walls and an original filter system to protect the crew from combat gases. In its interior, visitors can also see infantry weapons and special strength weapons, armored bells with special adjustable floors, ammunition, warehouses, uniforms and all the things the crew used daily. There is also a demonstration of an authentically furnished bathroom, a quarters and a commander's office.
An inseparable part of the museum in the building B-S 4 “Lány” is also an exhibition in its exterior, which helps to create a comprehensive view of the functionality of the fort line and its elements set in the landscape. You can see for example anti-personnel obstacles, portable obstacles "Spanish riders" and the remains of the now non-existing anti-tank wall, which used to stop the procedure and destroy the armored equipment of the enemy.
Another interesting part of the museum is the IPPEN border barrier, which is the last preserved specimen of its kind in the Slovak Republic. In the area is also built a small trench net with reconstruction of improvised field fortifications and a set of three small concrete objects called. "Kugelstand" connected by trench system.
The museum is open seasonally. You can also inquire in advance about the opening hours and the potential visit by telephone. However, the exterior of the bunker is freely accessible all year round, so you can visit it at any time.
The easiest way to get to the bunker is on foot or by bike along the path (approx. 2.5 km, 30 min.) that runs along the lower part of the Lanfranconi bridge. There is public transport near the bridge and there is also a parking lot under the bridge.
