Krupinská Plain is a perfect place for adventurers. In addition to the beautiful unspoiled nature, majestic hills, diverse fauna and flora, you will also find unique natural creations worth discovering. One of these natural unique items included among the natural monuments of Slovakia is the Carpathian Gorge. Located in the immediate vicinity of the village of Hontianske Tesáre.

Tesárska Gorge is different from those often used by tourists in the Slovak Paradise. This gorge provides a great deal of unusualness, even for Slovakia. It was formed by the action of water on volcanic rocks. These rocks are relatively poorly resistant and have created a unique, though short canyon valley.

The springs of water flowing on volcanic rocks create charming waterfalls. In total, you can admire up to 4 waterfalls, the highest of which has 8 meters. Crossing the gorge is a real experience that will enrich you with diverse terrain and climatic conditions. Initial, typically humid and cool air will replace the more dramatic passage through rocks, driftwood, or narrow spaces between two majestic rock walls.

The gorge is only transient in one direction, so it is necessary to return using the same road. Tesárska Gorge is accessible via the red-marked hiking trail from the village of Hontianske Tesáre (approx. 2 km). The gorge is accessible all year round and will show you a different but always unique beauty in every season.
