Description
The south-west slope of Chlm, which rises above the villages of Chlmec and Porúbka, is surrounded by a beautiful location - the Nature Reserve of Chlmecká Rock Garden.
The nature reserve was proclaimed in 1988 and the subject of its protection is the drought and thermophilic vegetation of Vihorlat Hill with the occurrence of the endemic greater pasque flower and snowdrop anemone. From March to May, you can admire the slopes rich with purple, blue or pink flora.
Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed from the forest glade at the spot height Chlm at the edge of the reserve. Chlmecká Rock Garden represents undemanding hiking near Humenné, which is suitable for families with small children or recreational tourists.
The easiest way is accessible by marked hiking trails from villages Chlmec and Porúbka (about 1 km). You can also get here from Jasenovo by the blue trail and stop by Jasenovský Castle.
