Above the village of Kšinná, there is a densely wooded hill called Čierny vrch (Black Hill). It is part of the Strážov Mountains. Rocky cliffs protrude from it in several places, with beech forests hiding them before tourists.
Despite the dense vegetation, beautiful views of wide surroundings open from its top. You can admire the views of Malá Magura, Strážovské Mountains and Rokošza Hill, and in good weather, you can admire the Kriváň of Little Faatra or part of the Greater Fatra Mountains.
The top is decorated with a fenced wooden cross and the mountain peak book is hidden in the box at the tourist signpost. A retranslation tower is built near the Black Hill and serves to amplify the radio signal. For relaxation or shelter in bad weather, you can use the so-called Maroš's shelter.
There are several marked hiking trails leading to the Black Hill, offering various ascend options. The easiest way to get to it is from villages of Kšinná or Rudnianska Lehota. The hike is unpretentious, suitable for less experienced tourists and families with children.
From the Black Hill, it is possible to continue along the red tourist trail to hills like Suchý, Capárka and Homôlka.
