Before you go to the Barrow of M. R. Štefánik on Bradlo Hill, stop in the center of Brezová pod Bradlom. Directly on the square you will find the Štefánik's National House and the Dušan Samuel Jurkovič Museum in it. He was an excellent architect who, in addition to the Barrow on Bradlo Hill, designed many beautiful, mainly Art Nouveau buildings.
The museum in Brezová pod Bradlom is the first museum in Slovakia dedicated to the architect Jurkovič. He is commemorated in the city in which Dušan Jurkovič grew up, in which he is buried and in which seven of his works exist, including the most famous one – the M.R. Štefánik Barrow on Bradlo.
Through its exposition, which also uses modern digital technologies accessible to the younger generation, the museum presents Jurkovič's life and work and the past of Brezová pod Bradlom. An engaging interpretation with the screening of period films will draw you into the world of this brilliant architect and the history of the city of Brezová pod Bradlom.
