Description

Čutkovská Valley near Ružomberok is a site that is still relatively little explored by tourists. And that is where her magic lies - shrouded in mystery and full of natural jewelry. A trip to Čutkovská Valley is a wonderful way to spend your free time with your family or friends.

One of the most beautiful valleys of the Great Fatra hides a breathtaking gorge - Čutkovský Canyon. It is located at an altitude of 850 meters and is full of dolomites and limestones of various shapes. The canyon is a respectable 64 meters long and was created by the Čutkovský brook, which broke its way through the rocks and rock walls mentioned above.

The Čutkovský Canyon is full of unprecedented beauty, complemented by charming waterfalls and dense forests similar to primeval forests. One of the main attractions is theJelení vodopád (Deer Waterfall), which is one of the largest waterfalls of the Greater Fatra. It is located on the Jelení potok (Deer Creek) at a height of 24 meters. The passage is provided by technical aids, especially stairs and railings.

However, if you want to see the beauty of the whole Čutkovská Valley, we recommend crossing the educational trail Známa - neznáma (Known - unknown), which is 6.7 km long. There are 10 information panels on the route that will introduce you to the local natural beauty.

The beginning of the route to Čutkovská Valley as well as to the canyon itself is near the parking lot near Koliba u dobrého pastiera (Cottage by a good shepherd). You can get here by car or on foot from Hrabov.
