The south-western part of Krivánská Little Fatra is filled with the distinctive mountain called Suchý. It is located at the beginning of the main ridge and for many tourists in the Little Fatra, it is also the first stop when crossing the ridge of this part of Little Fatra.
Like the entire ridge, the Suchý Hill is grassy. The peak itself offers far and clear views of the nearby Little and Greater Kriváň, Súľovské Hills, Kysucké Beskydy and Greater Fatra. At the top, there is a metal double cross with a Slovak flag.
There is a mountain cottage under Suchý, where you can relax, enjoy the surrounding nature, get something small to eat or even stay overnight during your ascent or descent. On the northern slope of Suchý, there is the national nature reserve of the same name with rare forest communities, which are of a primeval nature.
The Suchý Hill is well accessible by marked hiking trails from Nezbudská Lúčka (about 8 km) or Turčianske Kľačany (about 7 km), from where the green trail leads to Cottage on Kľačianska Magura.
