Kremnica Mountains, the dominant of the central part of Slovakia, hides many hiking and educationl trails in its dense forests, but one of them is truly unique.
It is the educational trail Boka, which begins at the mouth of the valley of the Veľky Sietenec approximately 1.5 km from the villages of Budča and Hronská Dúbrava. The terrain is moderately challenging, but can also be managed by children, and if not, you can still take them to your shoulders and successfully reach your destination. The elevation to overcome is approx. 300 m. The walkway is 5 km long and has 13 stops.
Wandering through the walkaway, one can see a unique local flora and fauna. You will walk alternately through the oak, cereal and beech forests that will gently release the golden sun rays.
If you do not choose this path in winter, its surroundings will be dotted with varied colorful thermophilic plants. These will later be alternated by open rocky habitats and forest steppes.
At the end and at the beginning of the walkaway, there is known mushroom rock (Devil's Rock). It is indeed atypical geological formation. Looking at it, you will remain in astonishment as this massive boulder can stand still on such a small and narrow bedrock. In any case, the name of the Devil's Rock is just right. It really looks like a devil's work.
