The gamekeeper's lodge under the majestic Babia Hill remembers the old times when the poet Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav drew inspiration here. The gamekeeper's lodge under Babia Hill is set in an idyllic scenery. It is urrounded by silence and dream natural beauty.

The original gamekeeper's lodge visited by Hviezdoslav was burned down in 1912. The current gamekeeper's lodge was built on its foundations and is a true copy.

Inside the gamekeeper's lodge there is an exhibition of Hviezdoslav's Hájnikova žena (The Gamekeeper's Wife). It is the first truly literary museum in Slovakia** dedicated to the work of a poet**.

On the one hand, the exhibition aims to present an environment in which the poet drew inspiration and, on the other hand, brings the work closer from its creation, the first edition by printing to all previous editions and reflections in other arts. A new feature of the exhibition is a multimedia presentation of Hviezdoslav's work.

However, the gamekeeper's lodge below Baba Hill is not only connected with Hviezdoslav. At the beginning of the 20th century, this place became the birthplace and inspiration of another important representative of Slovak literature, Milo Urban. Therefore, in addition to the Hviezdoslav exposition, the gamekeeper's lodge includes also the** exposition dedicated to Milo Urban**.

Every year, during September, there is also an event called "Meeting at Hviezdoslav's gamekeeper's lodge. For all residents of Orava Polhora, surrounding villages and all visitors from around the world, there is an accompanying program, holy mass and small refreshments.
