Description
In the cultural center of "Na korze" in Sabinov you can see a permanent exhibition of the Oscar-winning film The Shop on Main Street and also a museum with works of Sabinov painters and an exhibition on the history of the town.
The Czechoslovak film The Shop on Main Street won the famous Oscar award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1965. It was the first Czechoslovak film to win this award. In the permanent exhibition, you can see exhibits reminding of filmmaking in Sabinov - photographs, props, original film script or correspondence of locals with filmmakers, as well as samples of the famous film projected on the screen. You will also find reminiscences of filmmaking of the inhabitants of town in the form of photographs and stories here.
