A unique complex of historic buildings is built in Liptovský Mikuláš on the Square of the Demands of the Slovak Nation. They are connected to the Evangelical Church dating back to 1785. It also includes the Evangelical vicarage in which M. M. Hodža served as a priest. The Evangelical vicarage was the place of foundation of the Tatrín Cultural and Educational Association, and on May 10, 1848 the Demands of the Slovak Nation were written.
The stormy 1840s of the 19th century are commemorated by the exposition of Tatrín and Demands of the Slovak Nation, which is located here and is part of the Museum of Literary History of Janko Kráľ in Liptovský Mikuláš. The exhibition presents authentic spaces full of period furniture, rare books, facsimiles of period documents and pictures documenting the important position of Liptovský Mikuláš as one of the centers of national and political life in Slovakia in the mid-19th century.
The tour can also be accompanied by projecting video recordings of the city's personalities, various quizzes, and schools can ask for a sample lesson. In the exposition, it is possible to purchase promotional material about the establishment and operation of the Tatrín association and Demands of the Slovak Nation. The rectory building is included in the list of cultural monuments.
