Voluntary fire brigades belong to the oldest service organizations in the Slovak Republic regardless of religion, nationality and political affiliation.
At present, they are represented in almost every municipality. Certainly, you or your children once dreamed that you would like to be a firefighter. And that can now easily come true.
All you have to do is to visit Martin, in particular its town district called Priekopa. There is a unique Firefighting Museum, which was created at the initiative of the pioneering volunteer firefighters.
Visitors can see horse, manual and motorized syringes, armament and equipment expositions, collections of international uniforms and fire vehicles.
Throughout the tour, you will be accompanied by a guide that will provide you with expert commentary and answer all your questions.
In the SIM area (former military warehouses), there is also a small zoo farm, barbecue zones, sports fields and a pump track. That is why the visit to the first fire-fighting museum in Slovakia is a great tip for a trip for families with children.
