Since 2014, the small village of Fintice in East Slovakia has its own museum and gallery. The gallery and museum of folk art is housed in a historical building of a former baroque granary, which is part of a national cultural monument. It focuests activities on building and presenting a collection fund with a regional focus.
The gallery introduces visitors to the history of the village of Fintice in three exhibitions dedicated to Jozef Kolarčík-Fintický, an Eastern Slovak ethnographic collector, aristocratic families in Fintice, archeology and life of the people of Fintice. Individual expositions are finished by panels with rich historical data.
After a personal agreement, it is also possible to book a tour of the local church and the noble tomb of the Dessewffy family. Admission to the gallery and museum is voluntary. The museum's gallery uses the visitors' contributions to restore historic furniture from the Fintice mansion.
