Many visitors to the Muránska plain National Park automatically associate the phrases "meadow full of groundhogs" or "groundhog meadow" with the location of Biele vody near Muráň. This place has become popular and is among the most sought-after places in the field of tourism on the Muránská plain. Many enjoy the opportunity to see groundhogs in the wild, as these shy rodents often escape the attention of visitors.

Here you can admire these natural inhabitants of the Muránská Plain from close proximity. Groundhogs do extremely well in this environment. The animals are used to human presence and although of course you have to be considerate, groundhogs are mostly friendly. They are also used to being fed, for example sunflower seeds, apples or carrots directly from the hands of visitors. But beware, during the winter groundhogs sleep, so you can only meet them here during the season from about march to the end of september.

Groundhog meadow is located approximately 2.5 km from Muráň in the direction of Predná Hora on the left side of the state road (531). If you go from Predná Hora, you will find the meadow about 4.5 km from the fork in Predná Hora in the direction of Muráň on the right side of the road. There is a parking lot near the site where you can park. From there, you only need to walk a few tens of meters and you are already there. A marked cycle path also passes through the location, so it is not a problem to go here by bike.
