The dominant of the magnificent chateau park with a lake, an Empire theater, a riding school, a garden gazebo and the remains of romantic buildings in Hlohovec is the idyllic Hlohovec Chateau. On the site of the present castle, the original medieval castle built in the 11th century once stood. The castle had a strategic location, so it used to be the seat of several military garrisons.
At present, the chateau is reconstructed and declared a national cultural monument. The chateau is used as a place of culture and social life of the city. A historically valuable attraction of the chateau is the chapel, where a copy of the medieval relief of the Nativity of the Lord is installed.
Part of the first, second and third floors are open to the public. The experience is obtained not only by the premises of the Homeland Museum, but also virtual tours using tablets and 3D glasses. During the summer season, visitors can look forward to many cultural events that the chateau regularly hosts.
Wedding ceremonies take place in the most beautiful part of the castle, in the library. The chateau is also often used for artistic and wedding photography.
