The dominant of the magnificent chateau park with a lake, an Empire theater, a riding school, a garden gazebo and the remains of romantic buildings in Hlohovec is the idyllic Hlohovec Chateau. On the site of the present chateau, the original medieval castle built in the 11th century once stood. The castle had a strategic location, and therefore it was the seat of several military garrisons.
At present, the chateau is reconstructed and declared a national cultural monument. The castle is used as a place of culture and social life of the city. A historically valuable attraction of the chateau is the chapel where a copy of the medieval relief of the Nativity of the Lord is installed.
Part of the first, second and third floors is open to the public. True experience is not only the premises of the Homeland Museum, but also virtual tours through tablets and 3D glasses. During the summer season visitors can look forward to many cultural events that the castle regularly hosts.
Wedding ceremonies are held in the most beautiful part of the castle, in the library. The chateau is also often used for artistic and wedding photography.
