Not far from the village of Tatranská Javorina, surrounded by a wild forest and a vast meadow, there is a beautiful hunting lodge called Hohenlohe. This wooden lodge was built between 1883 and 1885 by the Prussian Prince Christian Craft Hohenlohe-Öhringen.
Since 2004, the presidents of the Slovak Republic have used it for representation purposes. The hunting lodge is thus administered by the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic. Throughout its history, it has hosted several foreign presidents at formal and informal meetings.
Hohenlohe hunting lodge is a national cultural monument, which has been open to the public since 10 December 2015. It is open all year round on the selected day of the week. It is recommended to book a tour 7 days in advance as the maximum number of visitors per entry is 20.
Visitors can admire a large part of the original equipment in the lodge, including a rare telescope from Munich optician Jacob Merz, numerous hunting trophies, weapons, photographs, paintings as well as gong for calling social events.
