The Museum of Horehronie in Brezno is one of the younger museums in Slovakia. Its collection consists of more than 30,000 objects, as well as a number of written and pictorial documents from the field of ethnography and history, characterizing the history and culture of the population of Upper Pohronie region (Horehronie).
A permanent historical exhibition Horehronské Museum, which is called "Brezno in the transformations of time", is installed in one of the oldest houses on the square, in the burgher house. The exhibition captures objects from the historical collection of the Museum of the History of the town of Brezno from its inception to 1918. It also deals with personalities who influenced the Brezno society in this period.
The building of the burgher house no. 13 is also the venue for various cultural events and regular exhibitions in an artistic spirit. Permanent historical exposition has opening hours set, but in case of group visits, it is necessary to report in advance by phone.
