Horná Streda Lake lies about 8 km north of Piešťany near the Váh canal. The lake was created by gravel mining and is popular for its exceptionally clean water.
Access to the lake is from the village of Horná Streda or from the main road from Piešťany to the airport, or by bicycle on the asphalt road along the Váh channel.
It offers refreshment during tropical heat, but swimming is at your own risk. There is also the possibility of swimming in other smaller lakes in the middle of the woods behind the Váh canal.
The west bank has groomed grass beaches, sports fields and seasonal food stalls.
Next to the kiosks, there is a smaller sandy beach and a playground for kids to enjoy them while you relax in the summer environment.
The area of the lake is also known for the fact that many festivals take place here during the summer, so there is definitely no boredom, just fun.
Many holidaymakers also camp by the water, but accommodation can be also found in the surrounding area in guest houses and hostels that offer sufficient comfort.
