North of the famous wine-growing village of Topoľčianky, the ruins of the Hrušov castle have been standing for centuries. Its remnants of massive walls and towers rise up on the Skalka Hill at 488 meters above sea level.
The Hrušov Castle consists of the ruins of a Gothic castle from the 13th century, which was destroyed in 1708. The ground plan of the castle, the residential core with a bailey and some towers have been preserved too.
Thanks to the reconstruction work under the leadership of the Leustach civic association, the castle's decline has been stabilized and at present its ruins are in very good condition and suitable for tourist visits. The castle offers a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside.
There are marked hiking and biking trails from Topolčianky and surrounding villages leading there. You can also diversify the visit of Hrušov Castle by scooters. Scooters can be rented directly in the castle grounds.
