Hviezdoslav´s Waterfall is one of the most beautiful glacier waterfalls in the Tatras. This 15-meter high waterfall adorns the Bielovodska Valley, which flows through the raging mountain river of Biela voda (White Water). The waterfall is situated at an altitude of 1575 m above sea level and falls from a distinctive rocky threshold.
Waterfall feeds the Zelený potok (Green Stream). It is surrounded by beautiful Tatra nature, dominated mainly by scrub, limbs and willow stands. Hiking in the Bielovodská Valley is not demanding and the visit of the waterfall will certainly be appreciated by children too. If you are going without children, we recommend that you continue on the route to the Polish Ridge and to Prielom along the Zamrznuté pleso (Frozen Mountain Lake).
Blue-marked tourist trail from Lysá Poľana (about 12 km) leads around the waterfall. The tour leads in a comfortable way and on several sections, you will also enjoy beautiful views of the entire valley, which is surrounded by the highest peaks of the Tatras - Gerlach, Ganek, Vysoká, Ťažký štít and Rysy. The transition takes about 3.5 hours.
