J. G. Tajovský Memorial House

The birth house of the leading personality of the second wave of Slovak literary realism, J.G. Tajovsky, stands still intact, serried in the beautiful nature of Tajov. This beautiful house with a typical rural atmosphere was built in 1799.

At present, the memorial house of Jozef Gregor Tajovský is a cultural monument that can tell the life of the family of J.G.Tajovský.

There are 5 rooms in the house:

• Entrance Room - captures the history of the village.
• The second and third rooms - are dedicated to the life and literary work of significant Slovak writer J.G. Tajovský.
• The fourth room - has an ethnographic character, where the original interior of the hallway of the house with a fireplace and a smokehouse has been preserved.
• The fifth Room - it documents the life and work of Tajovský's wife, writer Hana Gregorová.

The Memorial House is part of the Literary and Music Museum in Banská Bystrica. It is open upon requestand must be booked in advance.
