Description
The Jahňací štít (Lamb Peak), located in the northeastern part of the High Tatras, is one of six freely acceessible Tatras peaks. It is characterized by its pointed ending as well as the fact that in the past, it was a refuge for a number of chamois mothers with their calves.
The climb to Jahňací štít is very popular with visitors to the Tatras and one of the most frequented access routes leads right along the yellow-marked trail from Cottage at Green Lake through the Red Valley . The section of the route through the Kolový Crossover is a bit more challenging and secured by chains. The climb takes two hours from the cottage.
You will be captivated by the magnificent views of the Jahňací štít. When you get out here, you will immediately find out that it is not in vain to be one of the most beautiful views in the High Tatras. From the peak, you will see the surrounding valleys, Lomnický Peak, Pyšný Peak, Kolový Peak, Belianske Tatras, Pieniny with their peak Tri koruny (Three crowns), but also Poland.
You can descend following the same route to the Green Lake and Cottage at the Green Lake, where you can refresh, but also stay. From there, you can follow the winding path to the parking lot and the White Water stop.
