The Ján Koniarek Gallery in Trnava bears the name of a prominent Slovak sculptor, the founder of modern sculpture in Slovakia. The seat of the gallery is a splendid building known as Koppl's mansion or villa. The building was built for the family of Trnava entrepreneur Koppl. In 2002, the gallery added a new wing to the building designed as a place for the permanent exhibition of Ján Koniarek entitled “Sculptor Ján Koniarek” and “Jewels of Home”.
The collection fund of the gallery includes 76 collections of Ján Koniarek, sacral works and productions of the 18th and 19th centuries and Trnava motifs, works of art mainly from the interwar period, works from the socialist period and works by Slovak authors under the 1960s.
The Ján Koniarek Gallery regularly organizes art exhibitions of domestic and foreign origin. In the premises of the Koppl's Villa of the Ján Koniarek Gallery in Trnava, creative workshops and fine art are held regularly. Besides the exhibition activities, the Ján Koniarek Gallery organizes other activities in the form of individual concerts, lectures and screenings.
