Kmeť's waterfall is one of the less known Tatra waterfalls. Nevertheless, this waterfall is something special. Kmeť's waterfall is the highest in Slovakia. Located in Kôprová Valley, but falls from one of the most strictly protected sites - Nefcerka valley.
Kmeť's waterfall, which reaches a respectable 80 meters, bears the name of the prominent nationalist and botanist Andrej Kmeť. You can visit the waterfall at Kôprová Valley. You can reach it by turning right, right next to a wooden well, 100 meters behind the end of the asphalt road, which leads through Kôprová Valley.
On the left bank of the Nefcerka creek, there is a lookout platform, from where you can enjoy theKmeť's waterfall in full beauty. Over the waterfall, the valley of Nefcerka, however, ordinary tourists cannot get here, because it is thanks to unique preserved ecosystems of European importance the most strictly guarded nature reserve in Slovakia.
Kôprová valley can be reached from Tri Studničky (about 5km) or Podbanské (about 7km). From the end of Kôprová Valley, you can ascend to Hladké Saddle or continue further down the valley of Hlinský potok below Kôprovský Peak.
