Kojšovská hoľa (Kojšov Grassy Uplands) is a well-known and popular tourist destination, as well as a recreational area. It rises between the villages of Kojšov, Opátka, Zlatá Idka, Vyšný Medzev and Prakovce.
It is an ideal place to relax in any season. In winter, its southern slope is full of skiers, as there is a ski resort with a cable car leading from the recreational area at Zlatá Idka.
There is a beautiful circular view of the Low and High Tatras, as well as the entire eastern part of the country and surrounding villages and towns - Košice, Prešov, Margecany, Prakovce, Moldava nad Bodvou, Gelnica. With good visibility, part of Hungary and Ukraine can be seen too.
There are several marked routes leading to Kojšovská hoľa. The classic one is the climb via the blue marked trail and at the end, by the yellow marked trail from Zlatá Idka (about 6 km). It takes about 2 hours. The road from Kojšov is also very nice. A frequented trail is a route via the main ridge from Jahodná near Košice (about 15 km).
