The Kôprová Valley (The Dill Valley) is vast and very impressive. It forms the border between the High and the Western Tatras. It is surrounded by the ridge of the Litovské mounds, saddlebow of Kriváň and the ridge of the High Tatras.
The valley is a actually 12 km long valley that branches to several smaller, side valleys. This dale as well as its surroundings, remembers the old mining tradition, especially associated with gold mining activities.
Many hiking trails lead through the valley, giving you access to its greatest jewels, such as mountain lakes, waterfalls, wild rivers, and impressive rock formations. The valley can be reached on foot or by bike.
You can pass the Dill Valley and go to Upper Dill Saddle and then to Mengusovská Valley. From the saddle, the walkway continues to the top of the lookout hill - Kôprovský Peak.
At the end of the valley, you can visit two side valleys - picturesque Temnosmrečinská Valley with the mountain lake of the same name and Kobylia Valley with a little lake too. The best starting points are Podbanské along the yellow and green mark and also the Tri studničky (Three Wells) first following green and then blue marked trail.
