The unprecedented beauty of central Slovakia is perfectly complemented by the natural monument Králická Gulley, near the village of Králiky near Banská Bystrica. Králická Gulley is a 1 km long canyon, which was created by cutting the Farebný Potok (Colour Stream) into a limestone base, creating cliffs up to 20 meters high.
The location is still well hidden from the eyes of thousands of tourists, so you can enjoy passage through deep gulley almost alone. Your steps will be accompanied only by the beauty and sounds of the picturesque nature.
In the entrance you will be welcomed by the majestic 7 meters high waterfall, which is sufficiently flooded and during the summer many tourists can refresh there.
The area is a place of massive rocky boulders, rich and rare vegetation or animals. The protected area is formed by relatively well-preserved forest stands growing on the slopes.
The entrance to the gulley is located on the main road between villages of Tajov and Králiky. It can also be reached by suburban transport.
The passage through the gulley is unpretentious, and even smaller children can handle it. Only the passage through the wooden bridges, which tend to be damp and slippery, requires greater caution. The end of the trip can be diversified by sitting by the fireplace with a shelter and roasting.
