A unique natural creation located below the surface of the Slovak Karst is Krásnohorská Cave near the village of Krásnohorská Dlhá Lúka. This charming cave is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Krásnohorská Cave is a vortex fluviokarst cave. At present, 1556 m of underground spaces of this cave system are known, of which approximately 450 m are open to the public.
The whole main part of the cave flows through an underground flow, and therefore the guided tour is accessible by wooden benches, ladders and ropes. The dominant of this cave is a gigantic column, the so-called "Stalactic of Rožňava speleologists", which is 34 meters high.
Visiting the cave is suitable for all, but requires some mobility and fitness. Visitors meet with leaders in the area of the guest-house Jozefina in Krásnohorská Dlhá Lúka. After the outfiting yourself (overalls, helmet and headlamp), you will get on a 1 km long educational trail leading to the entrance to the cave.
