Little Kriváň is the second highest peak of Little Fatra, yet in this locality you will not meet such crowds of tourists as in the neighboring Greater Kriváň or hill of Rozsutec. Little Kriváň offers a beautiful but quite challenging all-day hike, which will certainly satisfy even the most demanding tourists.
The climb to Little Kriváň attracts not only during pleasant and warm months, but also in winter. Winter hiking and ski mountaineering are popular activities in this area of Little Fatra too. Looking at the snow-white landscape around you is really charming, but you won't be less happier even in the summer. The peak of Little Kriváň is dotted with rich calcareous flowering.
From the top parts of Little Kriváň, you will have a view of all sides. You will see the peaks of Greater Kriváň, Little and Greater Rozsutec, Greater Fatra and with great visibility Greater Choč, Babia hora as well as ridges of Low and Western Tatras.
The top of the mountain makes it possible to camp there and one night spent at Little Kriváň will be an unforgettable experience for you. The beautiful sunset, accompanied by the veil of soft clouds that encircle the surrounding hills, as well as the radiant sunrise, is a captivating natural scenery that Little Kriváň can offer you as well.
Several marked hiking trails lead to the top of Little Kriváň. The best and fastest way to reach its peak leads from Vrátna - Stará Valley (about 6.5 km away). Other starting points may be Bránica or Krasňany.
