If you are the type of tourist who wants to take a break from the Slovak high mountains for a moment, you may be interested in the smallest and the southernmost Slovak mountain range of Burda. This tiny mountain range is little known among tourists, but it offers some superlatives, which certainly include a spectacular view from the lookout called "Skaly v Burde" (Rocks in Burda).
The mountain range is overgrown with floodplain forests and because it is not high, a pleasant, relaxing walk through the forests awaits you rather than exhausting tourism. Hiking in this mountain range can be handled by anyone in any weather.
As the name of the lookout suggests, the top parts are made up of andesite rocks. You will be able to enjoy beautiful views especially of the mouth of the Hron, Danube meander, Štúrovo, Maria Valéria Bridge, Hungarian Esztergom with the Basilica and the Vaskap Hill above it.
There is also a nature trail, which will enrich you with interesting information. The picturesque village of Kamenica nad Hronom (approx. 3 km) is an excellent starting point to the Burda Mountains as well as to the outlook itself.
