One of the most beautiful of the Kysuce observation towers is certainly the one that rises on the top of Marťák Hill in Javorníky. And there's no wonder about it. Its building, which resembles the medieval watchtower attracts tourists in every season.
The tower is 14 meters high and was built in 2011 of natural stone and wood. It soars at an altitude of 854 m above sea level, thus providing a beautiful circular view of the nearby and distant mountains. The hills such as Lysá Hora, Veľká Rača and the majestic Rozsutec in Little Fatra can be seen before your very eyes.
Near the observation tower, there is a tourist shelter and a wooden cross . The hike leading here is unpretentious and the route is part of Beskydy-Javorník main path. It can be easily managed by children or less experienced tourists. The easiest access is from the village of Zákopčie (about 3 km far).
In summer, turists and lovers of natural beauties come to enjoy their beauties in full bloom as well as endurance cyclists. But in winter, the surroundings become a paradise for cross-country skiers, as well-groomed cross-country trails are arranged along the entire length of the main path.
