Jánošík's Holes are a system of gorges and canyons in Krivánska Malá Fatra. They are located in the Rozsutec National Nature Reserve and consist of three coherent parts: Lower Holes, New Holes and Upper Holes. The Dierový potok (Hole creek) flows through them, thus forming them.
The Lower Holes are marked by an educational trail. There are two waterfalls with a height of 1 m and 3.5 m, which are part of the Dierový potok.
As well as in the other two parts, you can also admire the bizarre rock formations, overhangs and gorges that have a characteristic climate in the Lower Holes section. Thanks to it, these rock formations have become the home of diverse species of plants and animals.
The route is also suitable and interesting for families with children. The crossings are easy and over the Dierový potok, there are footbridges with railings. The Lower Holes end in Podžiar shed, where you can find a buffet in a small wooden cottage. Here you can refresh yourself and sit for a while on the benches or in the meadow by the water.
For all hiking and nature enthusiasts, we recommend going through all the parts. Jánošík's holes are accessible by attractive marked hiking trails with footbridges, ladders and chains from Terchová - Biely Potok.
