The village of Lúčky is a well-known spa locality. However, visitors to this village can admire the beautiful nature and natural monuments in addition to the spa too. The most famous of them is the charming Lúčky Waterfall. But if you go a little further, you will find more natural wealth - Lúčky Travertines.
They are located in the northwestern part of the village of Lúčky. Older travertines create a flatland elevation of Skálie and also massive cliffs called Zápoly and Skaličky. The younger travertines fill the current bed of the Lúčanka creek in the area from Lúčky to Liptovská Teplá. They create interesting cascades here.
The area of Lúčka Travertines is very impressive and valuable. Many travertines are 40 to 50 m thick. Travertines (rock walls and ridges) are created by gypsum-earthy acidulous water and these enchanting creations of nature stretch over an area of 3.8 hectares.
You can find Lúčka Travertines very easily. They form the center of the village and seem to naturally divide the village into a spa and the rest of the village. A visit to the waterfall as well as the Lúčka travertines is a very pleasant trip, which will also be appreciated by children.
