Lovers of quality wine and viniculture enthusiasts will have their field day at the Wine Museum of M. L. Szepsi. The museum is located in the intimate cellar area directly below the building of the Municipal Cultural Center in Moldava nad Bodvou. Although this city is not a well-known wine-growing area, the historic “Wine Route” has led through it in the past.
As a result, Moldava has become a shopping center in which wine was not only sold, but also stored in similar cellars in which visitors can now admire a permanent wine exhibition and in which also folk craft are presented. The perfect atmosphere of the medieval cellar is completed by old wine barrels or pits, which used to store grain in the past.
The Museum of Wine also has its own wine archive, which is open to the public on request. For a larger group of visitors, the tour can be combined with tasting of the best archive wines.
